Research at the Castle Centre

Denmark's Castle Centre bases its research on Danish as well as international research alliances. The terms castles, kings and power play a central role in all our research areas. The mapping of the architectual history of Vordingborg Castle is based on the excavation results from Vordingborg Castle and similar medieval castles around the Baltic Sea.

International Alliances

International alliances have been and still are a great source of inspiration in terms of the interpretation of the interaction between Vordingborg Castle and the countries around the Baltic Sea. Exchange of knowledge and personal friendships are valuable results of cross cutural networks and symposia such as Castella Maris Baltici, Hansa Colloquia, and the annual Castle Researh Conferences.
